These are the two most useful web links I have found to date. Bookmark them so that your child can find them instantly when he or she opens your laptop, or wakes up the desktop pc.
1) Best reading-book-finder
Finding a new reading book is easy now. CLICK HERE for such a simple but wonderful resource. Books are suggested by year group and the first chapter is there to read on the screen at the click of a mouse. Within moments it can be downloaded if yours is lucky enough to have an e-reader, and the job is done.
2) Best place for daily tables speed tests
This doesn’t have bells or whistles but it does the job brilliantly. Bookmark it and when your child walks in the door from school they can click on it and do 2×2 minute speed tests. CLICK HERE then scroll down the page to the blue pic on the left – the best speed tests are underneath the pic. If they don’t know a table then write it next to them, you’ll soon find they won’t need to refer to the cheat sheet and they will get faster and faster. See if they can beat you (my best is 73 in 2 mins, my 7-year-old can do 51).
