There are so many opportunities for reluctant writers at Christmas, you just need a few ideas up your sleeve…
- Christmas cards are particularly good for pen grip and general fluency. Do the first couple together – cards with mixed lower and upper case letters or spelling mistakes should end up in the recycling. The trick is to make them stop before frustration and weeping set in. As they do go on a bit after a while…
- Every time a good deed is done, a little note can be written to Father Christmas, just to let him know.
- Christmas lists are exciting to write – and if they illustrate their list and sprinkle a bit of glitter on it, they may forget that writing isn’t usually their thing.
