Year 5 11+ clubs

We offer so much more than content-rich sessions covering the whole of the Kent Test 11+ curriculum from start to finish. Our pupils are taught in clubs of six pupils, that’s four fewer than our competitors and makes a huge difference to learning outcomes
This very much isn’t school
Children enthuse about our classes. Friendships are built quickly. They have a giggle together.
How does it all work?

This is a one-year course covering the complete curriculum of the Kent Test. Each hour-long session is broken into short, concise activities. The children get used to the routine very quickly and this creates real momentum.
Here is the usual content breakdown:
• 10 minutes tables test and marking (later in the year special numbers and familiar fractions/decimals/percentages or even 2D/3D shape properties are included).
• 20 minutes maths teaching
• 15 minutes English teaching (comprehension or a grammar topic).
• 15 minutes on two separate reasoning types.
We believe in the little-and-often approach. The full curriculum of the exam is taught in small, manageable pieces, allowing plenty of time for us to tackle any issues that might arise.
What about homework?
Homework is a compulsory part of the programme as we mark and discuss the work within the planning of the following week’s lesson. It shouldn’t take more than 20 minutes at most – we encourage parents to let us know if anything crops up – and includes maths or English with two reasoning activities.
And practice papers?
Please don’t go freestyle and buy Bond books or 11+ practice papers. The Kent Test format is so specific that we recommend particular resources to complement our work in the clubs. Time is so precious that if you are going to ask your child to work at home it needs to be directly targeted for the greatest impact. Ask one of us for clarification, or click here for a flavour of the material we recommend at the beginning of the course.
How do I register my child?
Just complete the form to start the ball rolling.
For pupils wishing to join a club right now, we will get back to you as soon as possible with current availability and next steps.
We know that parents like to get ahead on this, so you can secure a place for next or future years. There is no sign-up fee, and we will add your contact to our waiting list and notify you as soon as places are available for booking. Priority is given to those who joined the list earliest when we begin allocating places.
